At 7:57 this morning New Castle County Fire Dispatch alerted the VHC for the Engine and Ladder to Chesapeake City, MD (Stations 2&12) for a reported working house fire at the above address. Shortly after Middletown units responded, Cecil County Dispatch requested a second alarm assignment, bringing an additional engine and the air unit from Middletown as well as units from the Odessa Fire Company (Stations 4&24) and Aetna Hose, Hook & Ladder of Newark (Stations 7, 8, 9 & 10.) Units arrived to find heavy fire conditions in a single family home and were assigned by Chief 2 to various tasks including fire attack, ventilation, overhaul and water shuttling. Units operated until released by command. VHC Units Responding: Tower 27, Engines 27-5 & 1-6, Utility 27 and Air 27.
