MVC with entrapment - Summit Bridge Road and old Summit Bridge Road

On February 25th, The Volunteer Hose Company along with New Castle County Paramedic 5 and DSP Trooper 4 were alerted to an MVC with entrapment at Summit Bridge Road and Old Summit Bridge Road. Units from Stations 4&24 (Odessa) and Station 29 (Port Penn) were alerted on the road to assist. Units arrived to find a open box type vehicle that had collided with the rear of a tractor trailer. Crews worked with the hydraulic rescue tools to remove the patient. Extrication was completed and situation was placed under control.
