L3, Residential Fire - 68 E. Cole Blvd

5:51 PM on July 18, 2013 The Volunteer Hose Company, Odessa Fire Company and Townsend Fire Company were alerted to a residential fire on Cole Blvd in Middletown.
Upon arrival 27-8 gave a report of multi family dwelling with heavy fire showing from the C side of the structure. Hand lines were advanced in on the fire from the rear of the structure and the front door of the structure. A good stop of the fire was completed. Rescue 24 crew preformed ventilation on the fire building.
Search of the building and the attached units found 11 puppies; they were removed from the structure and returned to the owners. Despite the extreme outside temperature the members of all fire companies did a good job of preventing the fire from advancing to other units.
The Volunteer Hose would like to thank all the mutual aid and support from the Middletown Police department, Town of Middletown Utility department. The situation was placed under control and the units returned to their stations.
