Shortly after midnight, New Castle County Fireboard alerted the VHC, along with NCC Paramedics and DSP Aviation, for an MVC on Ash Blvd in the area of Foxtail Lane. Rescue 27 (responding on the road while returning from an AFA) and the ambulance arrived concurrently to find a single vehicle vs. a tree and a fence with the driver trapped in the vehicle. The crew from the rescue quickly stabilized the vehicle and performed a door removal, which was hindered by the position of the patient. The patient was quickly packaged and transferred with Medic 10 and Medic 6 to a nearby parking lot for transfer to DSP Trooper 4 for transport to Christiana Hospital. The passenger of the vehicle refused medical attention. Units responding: Rescue 27, Mini 27-1, Ambulances A-1 & B-27, NCC Medics 10 & 6, ALS 25 and DSP Aviation Trooper 4.
