At 14:15 hours today, the New Castle County Fireboard alerted the VHC, along with Stations 4&24 (Odessa), 26 (Townsend), 29 (Port Penn), and 44 (Smyrna), along with an ambulance from Station 15 (Delaware City) and NCC Paramedics for a working residential fire. Tower 27 responded on dispatch and units arrived to find a structure with heavy fire in the rear, with extension into the walls and the attic. A search of the home revealed that no residents were home. The bulk of the fire was knocked down quickly and overhaul was performed.
