At 01:44 this morning the New Castle County Fireboard alerted the VHC for an Motor Vehicle Collision with a vehicle reported into a structure at 2893 Red Lion Road. Shortly after dispatch Fireboard added Aetna Hose, Hook & Ladder Company Engine 10-5 to the alarm as they were on the road. Units arrived to find a single vehicle that had struck a structure and continued into the garage of the residence, causing heavy damage. The driver of the vehicle was transported to CER while the single occupant of the residence was uninjured. The County Building Inspector responded and requested the New Castle County collapse team to shore up the building in order to safely remove the vehicle. USAR 13 made the response from Claymont and performed shoring for the vehicle removal.
