At 23:18 the VHC, along with Stations 4&24 (Odessa FC) and Station 26 (Townsend) were alerted for a commercial structure fire on Haveg Road in Middletown. Rescue 27 responded and advised Fireboard that they had smoke showing from the front pad of the firehouse, which added Stations 29 (Port Penn) for the RIT assignment and Kent County Station 44 (Smyrna) along with Ambulance 64 (American Legion of Smyrna)  and NCC Medic 5 to the alarm. Units arrived to find a fire in the rear of the Town of Middletown Electrical Department's garage. Crews quickly extinguished the fire and overhauled the structure.
