At 01:52 the VHC, along with Stations 7, 8, 9 & 10 (Newark), Stations 3, 6, & 12 (Christiana), and Cecil County Stations 2 & 12 (Chesapeake City) were alerted for a residential fire in the Brennan Estates development. Shortly after the initial dispatch the call was upgraded to a working alarm, bring Station 15 (Delaware City) and Stations 4 & 24 (Odessa) along with New Castle County Paramedics. Units arrived to find a single family home with smoke showing from the second story and stretched a line to the interior of the structure. Crews quickly extinguished the bulk of the fire and performed overhaul. One occupant was treated at the scene. The Delaware State Fire Marshal's office is investigating.
