At 16:20 the New Castle County Fireboard alerted the VHC for an off road vehicle on fire in a field on the south side of the C&D Canal. Units arrived to find the vehicle had started a fire in the surrounding field. Due to difficulty accessing the scene Command requested Station 29 to respond with their Argo offroad vehicle. Units operated for several hours, with the scene being placed udner control at 18:10.
