At 1726 the New Castle County Fireboard alerted the VHC for Ladder 1 as part of the working fire dispatch for a commercial structure fire at United Cocoa in Newark. Initial units arrived to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the roof of the structure and a second alarm was sounded. VHC units arrived and were utilized on the roof and in the interior of the structure to assist with fire suppression and overhaul. Crews operated for over 2 hours until released by Command.
