At 1048 this morning the New Castle County Fireboard alerted the VHC, along with Engine 26 (Townsend), Engine & Rescue 24 (Odessa), Engine Cecil County 1 (Cecilton) and Ladder 44 (Smyrna) for a reported high life hazard structure fire at the Appoquinimink High School on Bunker Hill Road. Units arrived to find a small fire in the bathroom that had been extinguished by staff members and the school resource officer. Crews checked for extension and found none. The scene was placed under control and turned over to the Fire Marshal's Office for investigation.
