At 2:37 AM on November 26th Stations 1 & 27, 4 & 24, 26, and 29 were alerted to a report of a trash fire in the area of Westown Movies. 27-1 and 27-3 responded to the incident, when units arrived to Westown Movies there was no fire evident. However Dispatch alerted the units to respond to rt 301 and Middleneck Road, as there were reports of an outside fire. While units were headed to the area, dispatch informed the units the PD was onscene of a large structure fire off Middleneck Road. 27-1 reported that there was no access to Middleneck Road off Rt 301 due to Construction of 301 bypass, so units were directed to to make access to Middleneck Road via Bunker Hill to Old Telegraph or from Warwick Road to Old Telegraph. Upon arrival the units reported a large structure and called for additional Engines and Tankers were called for as no hydrants were present. Firefighters preformed and exterior attack on the structure additional units from New Castle County , Kent County and Cecil County MD responded. While working this incident Stations 1 & 27 cover up units and station 26 were alerted to an MVC on Summit Bridge Road with a report of heavy entrapment in Townsend. Station 1 & 27 was also alerted to an AFA at Appoquinimik High School during this incident. Firefighters worked into the daylight hours trying to extinguish the structure fire, units returned to their stations around 7:30 AM with just enough time to put the units back in service and wash the trucks for the Christmas Parade.
