At 14:09 on Wednesday August 12, 2020, stations 1 & 27 were alerted to a residential structure fire in the neighborhood of Parkside. First arriving units found smoke coming from the eaves of the structure. Fire was located in the attic area and quickly extinguished. The Volunteer Hose Company was assisted by the Odessa, Port Penn, Townsend, Wilmington Manor and Aetna HH & L fire departments as well as New Castle County medic units 5 and 6. At 14:53 the scene was placed under control and turned over to the State Fire Marshal.
