Large Outside Fire - Assist Chesapeake City

Wednesday, March 5, 2025

Shortly after our own field fire around 1730 hours, a brush truck was requested from Stations 1 and 27 to assist Chesapeake City Fire Company for a large outside fire. The fire was located in the 2600 -block of Augustine Herman Highway involving roughly 3 acres of woods. Units were cleared after 2 hours turning the scene over to Maryland Forestry and Maryland DNR.

Days like today remind us of the extremely dry conditions and increased fire threat in our area. Please use caution and good judgement until these conditions improve.

RESPONDING UNITS:

VHC 27: Brush 1-0
Cheaspeake City FC: Brush 12, Engine 2, Tanker 12, & Utility 2.
Hacks Point FC: Brush 9
Addition Units: Maryland Forestry and Maryland DNR.
