At the Volunteer Hose Company, we are proud to have two incredible full-time female Firefighter/EMTs who serve our community with skill, experience, and strength. Their dedication and hard work ensure the safety and well-being of those around them, and we are beyond grateful for their service.

Beth White has dedicated an incredible 37 years to the fire service, with the past 20 years serving as a full-time Firefighter/EMT at VHC. Coming from a proud family of firefighters, Beth helped pave the way for future generations as one of the very few women in Delaware to join the fire service in the late 1980s—a time when female firefighters were rare. Her resilience, passion, and commitment has left a lasting impact on the fire service.

Jen DeCarlo brings an impressive 30 years of experience, with the last 5 years proudly serving at VHC. A dedicated and passionate Firefighter/EMT, Jen consistently puts the safety of others first. Her expertise and unwavering commitment make her an asset to our department and community.
