Friday, July 18th, members of the Middletown Town Council, along with Chief Bailey and Brian Bashista from Singer Associates, traveled to Appleton Wisconsin for a tour of the Pierce factory. The day meant an early departure from Middletown and a full agenda once at the factory. Everyone was able to learn the process of building a firetruck from the initial concept to the final product. While there, everyone was able to get a glimpse of the new Tower Ladder on order for the Volunteer Hose Company. Although no where near a complete product, the group was able to see how much is involved during the construction phase. The trip was planned in part due to Singer Associates bringing a new sales and service shop to Middletown.
