Weather Keeps Area Fire Departments Busy - New Castle County, Delaware
Thursday, September 3, 2015
Friday evening, November 21st, local fire departments responded to numerous calls for accidents on area roadways, ranging from minor fender benders to serious accidents with multiple injuries. The Volunteer Hose Company responded to this minor single vehicle accident on Shallcross Lake Road where a vehicle overturned.
The National Weather Service in Mount Holly, N.J., reported only a trace of snow accumulation throughout the area Friday, according to local websites. Most of it had melted during the day, but as night fell and the temperature dropped below freezing, wet and slushy roadways turned icy and treacherous.
The officers and members would like to remind everyone to use caution when driving in hazardous weather.
