Live Fire Training and Controlled Burn - Middletown
Thursday, September 3, 2015
For the past two months, members and career staff have been training four days a week at a structure donated by a local resident. The home, which was constructed in 1908, was due to be demolished. During this time, several classes were held to continue to sharpen the skills of the experienced and new firefighters within the department. Classes ranged from Firefighter Self Survival to ground ladders, aerial operations, roof ventillation, search and rescue and live fire training.
The company averaged approximately 25 members each evening, along with an average of 15 during the daytime.
The officers, members and career staff of the Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown would like to thank the local family for the use of the home prior to burning it down.
