Wednesday evening, August 19th at 16:54hrs, Stations 1&27, NCC Medic 6A,A-10 (Aetna) and A-3 (Christiana) were alerted for a vehicle accident at the above location. The accident involved three vehicles which were blocking the northbound and southbound lanes of the bridge, completely making access by emergency personnel complicated. Once crews were able to gain access to the accident, crews from Rescue 1 and Rescue 27 had the trapped occupants removed from the vehicles within minutes. A total of three patients were transported to Christiana Hospital for further evaluation. The scene was turned over to Del-DOT and the Delaware State Police for investigation.
