Construction Updates…. - Middletown
Thursday, September 3, 2015
There are several areas around town to use caution:
Construction on East Main Street between Cox Street and Catherine Street continues as a part of the Main Street rehabilitation project. Workers are replacing sidewalks and routing utilities from overhead to underground. There continues to be intermittent road closures, with traffic conjestion throughout the day and select evenings. Mutual aid companies are asked to use extreme caution when accessing the town from the east side.
West Main Street is now open to access Route 301. However, Bunker Hill Road remains closed between Middletown Warwick Road (301) and Sandhill Drive. The detour to access areas along the west side of town are to use Peterson Road, Merrimac Avenue, which is located just south of the entrance to the Middletown Wal-mart or use Sandhill Drive next to the Dairy Queen.
St Annes Church Road remains closed while the new bridge is being constructed and major road alignment in the area of Wiggins Mill Road. Detour signs are posted for both directions. Apparatus responding on Wiggins Mill should pay attention to weight restrictions on the bridge located just south of St Annes Church Road.
Please check back for additional updates in the near future.
