The NCC dispatch center called station 27 and asked for an engine to respond to investigate a report of smoke in the area of the railroad bridge on St. Annes Church Road. Brush 27-1 responded and located the source of the smoke in the woods just south of the Sharondale development. Engine 27-5 responded and met 27-1 at the corner of Phillips Drive and South Scott Street and the crews walked through the woods and began to extinguish the fire. 27-1 relocated to the railroad tracks, but still was unable to get any better access. The fire was eventually extinguished and the crews returned to the station.
