Working fire while covering Smyrna - West Commerce Street, Smryna

On Saturday, Rescue 1 was standing by at Smryna firehouse while they were attending another event. Just before 4 pm, a citizen ran into the station reporting a house on fire down the street. Kent County 911 was advised and Rescue 1 responded while Smyrna & Clayton were dispatched. Rescue 1 arrived to find smoke showing from the home with fire on the second floor. The crew put a hose in service and began to extinguish the fire as local units arrived. Lt. Jarrell from Smyrna assumed command when he arrived. Units on scene: Rescue 1, Engine 44-2, Engine 44-3, Rescue 44 (Smryna), Quint 45, Engine 45-3 (Clayton), Ambulance 64 (Smyrna Ambulance), Kent County Paramedics, & Engine 43-4 (Cheswold) covered Smyrna.
