Assist Christiana on Two Alarm Residential Fire - Mansion Farms

Wednesday afternoon, April 28th at 14:12hrs, Stations 1&27 were alerted to assist the Christiana Fire Company on a level 3 residential fire in the Mansion Farms community off of Howell School Road. Shortly after dispatch, the alarm was upgraded to a working fire by the communications center, adding additional companies to the response. Rescue 27 and Engine 27-5 responded from Middletown.
Christiana Fire Company BLS unit B-6 was first on scene with heavy fire conditions and reporting possible subjects trapped. A second alarm was requested, adding additional resources to the incident. Engine 27-5 arrived shortly after Christiana Rescue Engine 12-6 and Delaware City 15-7, dropping a supply line to the ladder. The crews from the initial units began an aggressive attack on the fire, but due to rapidly deteriorating conditions, crews began to knock down the fire from the exterior. After the bulk was knocked down and the structure deemed safe, overhaul and another search were conducted.
All occupants of the home were located without injury.
Companies responding to the incident consisted of Christiana, Delaware City, Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown, Aetna Hose Hook & Ladder of Newark, Port Penn, Odessa. Goodwill of New Castle, Wilmington Manor, Minquadale, Minquas of Newport, Holloway Terrace, New Castle County Communications F100, NCC Medic 6 and ALS 24, State Fire Marshal office and ATF.
