The Volunteer Hose Company was alerted to assist the Aetna Hose, Hook, & Ladder Company of Newark for a reported house fire on Welsh Tract Road. Tower 27 and 27-5 made the response with 11 firefighters. The crews from both units were assigned to assist with fire suppresion and engine 27-5 was used to shuttle water to the scene from a fire hydrant about a mile away.
