Rescue 27 and Tower 27 arrived as the engine was laying in to the scene. Crews from the initial arriving apparatus advanced two 1 3/4" lines to the second floor of the residence and began placing ground ladders. Assistant Chief Mullen had command of the incident.
As mutual aid companies arrived, water supply was established at the end of the lane. Additional tankers were requested due to being in a non-hydrant area, bringing additional units from Odessa and Port Penn. Crews worked for over two hours completing extinguishment, ventillation and overhaul.
Local fire stations were covered by Smyrna, Clayton, Wilmington Manor and Five Points.
The Delaware State Fire Marshal's office is investigating the cause of the fire.
