Friday morning, October 28th at 04:17hrs, the Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown, New Castle County Medic 6C and ALS-24, along with B-3 and Rescue Engine 3-6 from the Christiana Fire Company were alerted for a vehicle accident with a rollover on Howell School Road at the entrance to Lums Pond State Park. Crews found a single vehicle accident off of the roadway into a heavily wooded area. Entry was made to the vehicle and no occupant was inside. Firefighters from both companies searched the woods and immediate area around the accident with Thermal Imaging Cameras in an attempt to locate a victim, however no traces of heat were detected. The Delaware State Police helicopter was requested to do a search of the area as well, however no victim was located. Crews stood by the accident scene to assist the Delaware State Police until the vehicle was removed from the roadway.
