Friday morning, December 30th at 06:37hrs, the Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown was alerted to assist Townsend on a building fire at the Delaware Solid Waste Authority. Crews had been there a week before for another working alarm in a separate building. Firefighters from Townsend, Middletown, Odessa and Clayton were on scene for over two hours shifting through the debris and extinguishing the fire.
