Ladder Company Assist on Working House Fire - Bayview Road

Tuesday evening around 19:14hrs, the Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown was alerted for an engine and ladder to assist the Odessa Fire Company on a working house fire in the 900 block of Bayview Road. Port Penn Fire Company, Delaware City Fire Company and the Townsend Fire Company also assisted on the alarm. The initial reports was that the fire was in the garage area of the home. Odessa Fire Chief Scott Brown arrived shortly after dispatch with fire showing from the residence, adding additional companies under the working alarm dispatch. Aetna Hose Hook & Ladder of Newark was alerted for the RIT, and Cecil County Maryland Chesapeake City was alerted for a tanker to respond. Initial crews put a quick knock down and stop to the fire and began searching the residence for victims, which one was quickly located. Fire delartment personnel from Odessa remained on scene for several hours assisting the Delaware State Fire Marshal's office with their investigation.
