Working House Fire - The Legends

Wednesday, May 9th at 13:20hrs, the Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown, Odessa for a Rescue and Engine and Townsend for an engine were dispatched to a residential fire on East Sarazen Drive in the Legends. Initial reports to the 911 center reported the rear of the house on fire. Chief Bailey arrived and determined the fire to be coming from the basement.
Tower 27 arrived on scene and the crew initiated fire suppression efforts in the basement of the residence. Rescue 27, Engine 1-6 and Quint 1-7 arrived and handled ventillation and initial search of the residence, which proved no one was home at the time of the fire. Port Penn Fire Company was added to the response for the RIT assignment. Crews from Odessa and Townsend assisted with the secondary search of the residence and ventillation as well.
Crews were on scene for over 4 hours assisting the Delaware State Fire Marshal's office with their investigation, as well as Town of Middletown employees to board up the home.
