Vehicle Accident with Entrapment - Summit Bridge Road

Friday afternoon at 16:24hrs., the Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown, NCC Paramedics and Trooper 4 were alerted for a vehicle accident with entrapment in the area of Mr. Mulch on Summit Bridge Road. Firefighters arrived to find a SUV partially underneath of a tractor trailer with the driver trapped inside.
Crews used rescue tools and air bags to work through the metal and free the patient. The driver was transported to Christiana Hospital by helecopter for additional treatment of the injuries sustained in the accident.
