Working House Fire - Brennan Estates

On Sunday afternoon, May 27th at 13:19hrs., the Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown, Aetna Hose Hook & Ladder of Newark and Chesapeake City were alerted for a house fire in the Brennan Estates Community. As fire department units were responding, Firefighter Brackin from Volunteer Hose arrived on scene and reported via phone that there was fire showing from the A/D corner of the home. Christiana Fire Company and the Delaware City Fire Company were added to the working alarm response.
Rescue 27 arrived on scene and layed a 5" supply line from the hydrant to the fire scene, and the crew was able to contain the spread of the fire until Delmarva Power arrived to secure the electric to the residence. Engine 1 and Tower 27 were the next units to arrive and crews handled the ventillation and search of the residence. Additional crews from Aetna, Chesapeake City, Delaware City and Christiana also assisted with various fire ground tasks before being released.
