At 13:32 this afternoon New Castle County Dispatch alerted the VHC, along with Odessa Fire Company (Stations 4&24), Townsend Fire Company (Station 26) and the Port Penn Fire Company (Station 29) to assist Cecil County Station 1 on a working structure fire. Rescue 27 and Ambulance B-1 responded and arrived to find a single family structure with heavy fire throughout as well as through the roof. Rescue 27 was placed in service by Command and assisted units with fire suppression and overhaul. B-1 assisted the ALS and BLS already on scene with establishing and running the rehab division. Middletown units operated until released by Command. While units were operating Engine 27-5 handled two additional incidents in the district. VHC Units Responding: Rescue 27 & Ambulance B-1.
