MVC With Entrapment - Levels Road and Dogtown Road

At 6:51 this morning New Castle County Dispatch alerted the VHC, along with New Castle County Paramedics and DSP Aviation, for a motor vehicle collision that was reported to be with entrapment. Units arrived to find that a single vehicle had left the roadway and struck a utility pole, causing heavy damage and pinning the driver in the vehicle. Members quickly stabilized the vehicle and utilized the rescue tools to remove the driver's side doors and middle post in order to gain access to the driver. Extrication was completed in less than 10 minutes. The driver was then removed and transported to the Christiana Hospital.
Units Responding: Rescue 27, Engine 1-6, Minipumper 27-1, Chief 27-8, Ambulances A-1, B-1 & A-27, NCC Medic 5 and DSP Trooper 4.
