Assist Townsend - Residential Structure Fire - 6219 Summit Bridge Road

At 09:18 hours New Castle County Dispatch alerted Station 26 (Townsend), the VHC and Stations 4 & 24 (Odessa) for a reported basement fire. Rescue 26 arrived and found an active fire in the basement with a smoke condition in the structure and requested the working fire upgrade which added Station 45 (Clayton), Kent County Maryland Station 3 (Galena) and New Castle County Paramedic 5. VHC units arrived and placed a second handline in service inside the structure as well as performed a primary search of the residence. Units continued to operate, assisting with clearing the chimney and performing salvage and overhaul, until cleared by Command. VHC Units Responding: Tower 27 & Engine 27-3.
