At 17:06 this evening New Castle County Dispatch alerted the VHC to assist Cecil County Stations 2&12 (Chesapeake City) with a residential fire. While VHC units were en route Chief 2 requested a second alarm assignment, which added Stations 4&24 (Odessa) and Station 29 (Port Penn) as well as a number of Cecil & Kent County (MD) stations. Units arrived to find Cecil County units operating at a single family dwelling with heavy fire throughout and with structural instability. Units operated for over 2 hours, assisting with fire suppression and overhaul until released by Command. VHC Units Responding: Tower 27, Engines 27-5 & 1-6, Utility & Air 27 and TSU 27.
