Traning night at DSFS Dover - DSFS Dover
Friday, September 4, 2015
Members of the Volunteer Hose Company attended training night at Delaware State Fire School on the evening of February 27, 2013. Approximately 30 members composed of probationary members, experience firefighters, and a few seasoned personnel, went to Dover. The evening began with a jump back to the basics for the experienced firefighters and look into the future for the probationary memebers. Instructor Dempsey (DSFS), taught in the lower level of the building, what a firefighter could possibly see upon enetering a burning building. After several situations were discussed it was time to begin the evolutions. The crews were split with probationary members and experienced firefighters, hose lines were advanced and the fires were extinguished. Many evolutions were run in the lower level before moving to the upper level of the building. The evening concluded with all the members and instructors cleaning out the burn building and returning the DSFS Training grounds to its neat and orderly condition, ready for the next training day. The Voluteer Hose would like to thank the DSFS for the use of the facility as well as the instructors provided.
