At 21:46 on the evening of the 17th, New Castle County Dispatch (Fireboard) alerted the VHC for an MVC on Chesapeake City Road in the area of Pilot Drive and the construction zone. Units arrived to find that a single vehicle had entered the construction zone and had fallen into the ravine where a bridge is being replaced, overturning in the process. The driver of the vehicle had self extricated prior to arrival of fire units and was found and treated at a nearby residence. Crews secured the vehicle and turned the scene over to DSP.
